Casa Dos Choupos

This new course is sited in beautiful natural countryside and is dedicated to conserving the natural floral characteristics of the Algarve.  Located between the Monchique mountains and the tourist city of Portimao.  Par 73, it has one of the Algarve's longest layouts and has 104 bunkers.  Rating - difficult.

This course is the nearest one to Casa Dos Choupos, being a 5 minute drive away.

We are currently awaiting further information on this new golf course, recently opened in Silves.

We are a 15 minute drive from the course, which is 19km distance from the property.

 

Alto Golf was designed by Sir Henry Cotton along parkland lines.  The course spans across two gently sloping valleys and measures 6125 metres from the back trees.  Par 72, suggested as the best value golf in the Algarve.  The 16th hole is one of the longest holes in Europe at 602 metres with a tight tree lined and undulating fairway.  It is one of the best tests of golf in the Algarve.  You need to hit a perfect drive to avoid the water off the tee.  Your second has to be a well placed fairway wood to have any chance of reaching the green in regulation.  Two good shots should leave the average golfer a mid to long iron to the green, where a tricky two putt for your par awaits on this contoured green.

Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort offers a wide range of sporting and leisure facilities that include 3 golf courses.  An 18 hole championship course, a 9 hole academy course and a 9 hole resort course.  This is the oldest course in the Algarve, built on on parkland terrain with tree lined fairways.  Rating - difficult.

This course is the twin of  Quinta do Gramacho, but with a full 18 hole course.  It is set in the Pestana Golf Resort.  Par 71, rating - fairly easy.

This golf course is adjacent to the Vale da Pinta course and is part of the Pestana Golf Resort.  Par 72, it offers easier playing, affording a good mix of old and new holes.  Rating - fairly easy.

This is a short course with nine holes, all of them Par 3.  Par 27, the course has good amenities and a good atmosphere, making it ideal for holiday-makers who aren't golf mad.  Rating - easy.
